Simintha Esson
Founder & Principal, The Nonprofit Strategist Group
Simintha Esson created The Nonprofit Strategist Group to meet a need she saw time and time again across the nonprofit sector: organizations don’t need more ideas—they need real, hands-on support to turn strategy into action.
With more than 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector and nearly a decade serving as a Chief Strategy Officer, Simintha has worked inside a wide range of mission-driven organizations—each with its own unique challenges, opportunities, and resource constraints. Across these roles, she was repeatedly called on to help organizations do more with less, strengthen fundraising, modernize strategy, and deliver results with limited capacity.
Throughout her career, Simintha has held senior leadership roles at nationally recognized organizations including the Heart Rhythm Society, Council of Chief State School Officers, the American Diabetes Association, and the Infectious Disease Society of America. She has overseen budgets of up to $30 million and led complex initiatives spanning fundraising strategy, digital marketing, events, and organizational planning—with experience across corporate, individual, and grant-based revenue.
What sets Simintha apart is her belief that strategy only matters if it can be executed. The Nonprofit Strategist Group was built to provide nonprofits with practical, execution-ready solutions—from fundraising calendars and digital campaigns to sponsorship decks, donor communications, and long-term growth strategies.
